Bathroom Renovations Done Properly

Most bathroom problems trace back to work rushed underneath the tiling. We treat the groundwork with the same care as the finish.

ADO Builders renovates bathrooms, en-suites and wet rooms across Surrey. We strip out, repipe and rewire where needed, then waterproof, ventilate and finish the room so it still looks and works well years from now.

You get one team and one quote, covering plumbing, electrics, plastering, tiling and decoration.

The Work You Never See

This is where a bathroom is won or lost.

Waterproofing and tanking

Showers and wet rooms are tanked properly before tiling, so water stays where it should.

Ventilation

Extraction sized for the room, so damp and mould do not take hold.

First-fix plumbing and electrics

Pipework and cabling are renewed or rerouted before the walls are closed, with electrical work certified.

Level floors and heating

Floors are levelled and insulated, with underfloor heating fitted before tiling if you want it.

  • Moving pipework, drainage or the window

  • Plastering, lighting and electrics

We give you a clear written quote after a site visit, so you know the full cost before any work starts.

Common Questions

Bathroom Renovation FAQs

Does a bathroom renovation need Building Regulations approval?

Bathroom electrical work is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, and changes to drainage, ventilation or structure may also need approval. We check what applies to your project and handle the paperwork.

Do I need planning permission for a bathroom?

Usually not, because a bathroom renovation is internal work. Listed buildings are the main exception and may need listed building consent.

How long does a bathroom renovation take?

A typical full bathroom renovation takes around two to three weeks.

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Surrey?

Most full bathroom renovations in Surrey fall between roughly £8,000 and £20,000 including fitting, depending on size, the suite and tiles you choose, and whether it is a wet room. We give a clear written quote after a site visit.

What is the difference between a wet room and a walk-in shower?

A wet room is waterproofed throughout, with a level floor and no shower tray. A walk-in shower is a single shower area, often with a low or flush tray, in an otherwise normal bathroom.

Can I use the bathroom during the work?

No. The bathroom is out of action while it is stripped out and refitted, so it is worth arranging an alternative. We keep the work as short as possible.
